About Us

Focus Humanitarian Assistance Australia (FOCUS Australia) helps people rebuild their lives with dignity when crisis forces them to start anew.

Established in 2024, FOCUS Australia is part of Focus Humanitarian Assistance (FOCUS International) — a global network founded in 1994 under the guidance of His Highness the Aga Khan. For over thirty years, FOCUS has supported thousands of families across Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America to recover from conflict, persecution, and disaster.

In Australia, our primary focus is supporting the resettlement of refugees and displaced families through complementary pathways. We help them find safety, stability, and a sense of belonging as they begin a new chapter in their lives. Together with community organisations, government partners, and volunteers, we provide practical assistance and create opportunities for inclusion and self-reliance.

While our core work lies in resettlement, we also stand ready to assist Australian communities during natural disasters — offering help to those affected by floods, bushfires, and other crises.

As an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), FOCUS Australia builds on a long tradition of humanitarian service rooted in compassion, pluralism, and shared humanity. We believe that in moments of displacement or disaster, what defines us most is our ability to care, to welcome, and to rebuild — together.

Focus Humanitarian Assistance Australia Limited (ACN 676 078 729 | ABN 47 676 078 729) is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC) and endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for relevant tax concessions, including Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status as a Public Benevolent Institution.
